While trying to recover her hat, which had been stolen by a little chimpanzee, Jane had wandered too far away from the expedition group. She was constanly tripping over rocks and roots, getting tangled in vines, getting the hem of her yellow dress caught on some sort of snag, she'd lost her hat, and now she was lost. The prim, proper young English lady had thought exploring the jungle with her father's research team would be a wonderful experience.
